Man claims pot is part of his religion

AVON, Colo. (AP) – Holy smoke! That’s the basis of Trevor Douglas’ marijuana defense.
He claims pot is a sacrament.
The Avon, Colo. man says he belongs to the THC Ministry and maintains he’s being prosecuted for his religious beliefs.
He was pulled over by a state trooper for an expired license plate.
Authorities say he had less than an ounce of pot on him, as well as a pipe. Douglas is due in court March 9.
