Turns out my Blackberry video from the Ames Straw Poll earlier this year is in the Huffington Post!
The Huffington Post just ran an article on the 2012 Republican candidates, titled What Republican Presidential Candidates Say About Legalizing Marijuana (SLIDESHOW). Herman Cain’s slideshow picture had this caption under it:
“Businessman Herman Cain has not given a public statement on medical marijuana, dodging questions on the issue during the 2011 Ames Straw Poll.”
The link from “Watch it Here” links to my YouTube, where a Blackberry video I previously posted on WeedPress pulls up!
Here’s what I find the most exciting about this video: a last-minute, impromptu question-and-answer video with a Presidential candidate made it into the media as news. Why this excites me: We The People can all use the power of the internet to help push medical marijuana as an issue in the 2012 elections.
I’m glad that this video helped highlight Herman Cain’s hypocrisy. While the former CEO of Godfathers recently told Fox News “I’m not afraid to “call it like it is,” Cain obviously prefers to stick to his talking points rather than discuss controversial issues such as medical marijuana. Just watch his latest campaign ad, which vainly attempts to incorporate cigarette smoking for the “coolness factor” while giving no information whatsoever on Cain’s positions:
Yes, that is an actual campaign ad.
If Herman Cain can’t talk to conservatives like myself while out campaigning, he’s going to have to run better ads. Otherwise he’s going to have a fairly tough time winning the GOP nomination. Herman Cain is obviously afraid to “call it like it is” when it comes to controversial issues. He’s going to needs something to help back up his one-liners…
Maybe he just needs is a faster golf cart.
If you’re reading this, Mr. Cain, I’m still waiting for a position on medical marijuana. Feel free to follow WeedPress on Facebook. You’re welcome to leave a statement about your position there. Good luck dodging voters questions in the future, and “have a nice day!”
