As reported last week by WeedPress, the parents of Maggie Selmeski are moving to Colorado to get medical cannabis for their daughter’s seizures. Here’s some recent news articles about the struggle for Maggie’s health:
KAAL: Iowa Parents Hope to Give Medical Marijuana to 17-Month-Old:
KWWL television reports Maggie Selmeski, of Janesville, began having seizures at six weeks old. She continues, at 17 months, to have about 500 seizures a day. Doctors say she has infantile spasms, a specific type of seizure disorder. Four anti-seizure medications haven’t worked.
Her mother, Rachael Selmeski, says she’s moving to Colorado to gain access to medical marijuana in the form of an oil, which is given like medicine. It has low levels of THC, the chemical that makes people high. –Full article here

Maggie has more than 500 seizures every a day. They’re tough to spot, but devastating to her development. She’s 17 months old, but has the brain and motor development of a three-month-old infant. She can’t even hold her head up.
Her parents felt helpless, but then, they saw a CNN documentary about marijuana, called “Weed.”
In it, they saw kids just like Maggie, their seizures significantly reduced by medical marijuana.

Parents in eastern Iowa are leaving the state to try and get a drug to stop their little girl from getting seizures.
