After a national precedent setting appeals court case with a payout of $353,000 over a T-shirt that was officially licensed by Iowa State University, an Oskaloosa, Iowa High School cheerleading coach seems to have been fired from her position as a student role model and leader for her opinion that marijuana is an issue worth studying in depth and being skeptical about outdated myths.
Having not smoked so much as a cigarette in her life this story came to WeedPress through a post that’s two years old from Miss Iowa 2014’s Jessica VerSteeg who founded Paragon:

What a shame that one of my closest childhood friends (Ashley Reed) is being removed as cheer coach in Oskaloosa, Iowa because she decided to support ME in helping the medical cannabis community. Over 100 million Americans are in chronic pain and I am fighting to help them. Yes, my mission certainly is a controversial one to some, but I’m legally helping the medical cannabis community.
In all of the years I’ve known Ashley I’ve never seen her smoke, not even a cigarette… To me that’s the best kind of supporter. Supporting a cause that she does not need for herself, but a cause she knows can benefit others including loved ones and people in the community. I am a supporter of gay rights, does that make me gay? No it means I’m supporting the rights of something that is positive and allowing others to be happy.
If Ashley were to post about a friend that received a promotion to be the new pastor of a church, would she be terminated for the combination of church and state? If Ashley were to go on her personal FB page or her linked in page and congratulate a friend who got a promotion at Corona would she get fired because the legal drinking age is 21 and older?
One cheer ex and disgruntled cheer mom (Noelle Stodghill-Bolibaugh) with a motive (her daughter didn’t make the squad this year) complained to the Oskaloosa HS athletic director and presented the post Ashley shared of the vogue.com article that My Cannabis start up was featured in and that’s all it took.

No necessary research was done, it was just decided to wrongfully terminate Ashley because one persons opinion and misperceptions of a post on her personal and private social media account.
They’re attacking someone who supports a friend that is working on helping people in pain, providing a healthier, more natural and organic alternative to addictive and dangerous painkillers. These are the same people who are posting pictures on their FB drinking alcohol, which is a recreational drug. What an embarrassing caveman behavior we’re witnessing in Oskaloosa…
Oskaloosa already lost one of the greatest athletes they will ever see because of this close minded mentality.
Now Oskaloosa school district wants to bully a coach that chose support a friend (me) who’s company supports a cause that would allow future athletes to medicate in a safer way?
Watch this and decide what’s right.
In progressive states like California that legalized marijuana years ago and voting next month to legalize weed for recreational use it is a multi-billion dollar industry and I’ve united with the business leaders to create a charity fund to legally fight those bullies all across America.”
