Iowa plans to award its second and last medical marijuana manufacturing license to Iowa Relief LLC, a Des Moines company.

The Iowa Department of Public Health released no additional information Friday about the company or the location of the facility, saying state code does not allow that information to be made public until a license officially is awarded Sunday.

Cedar Rapids city officials have had conversations with the parent company of Iowa Relief, City Manager Jeff Pomeranz said Friday, but they don’t know whether Cedar Rapids was chosen for the new manufacturing site.

Iowa Cannabis Company had asked for and received the city’s endorsement for a facility here, but that firm was not chosen.

Aaron Boshart, of Iowa Cannabis, told the council Cedar Rapids was the “best location geographically” for a plant that would create 20 jobs in its first year. Hourly wages would have start at $15 and salaries would start at $85,000 a year, he said.

Iowa Relief only recently incorporated in Iowa, registering with the Secretary of State’s office May 17. The firm, which lists a Des Moines office suite as its address, does not include the name of its parent company on the state filing.

BJ’s email was iowareleaf@yahoo.com. He had identified a location in Wellsburg, Iowa had his organization, Iowa Releaf, been awarded this license, but a new organization recently incorporated a few weeks ago by the name of Iowa Relief was awarded the license. If they’re the same company I don’t yet know. Follow WeedPress on Facebook for more as details come out

Iowans reached out today stating they had to drive as much as up to two hours to reach one of the five dispensaries. This program was built to fail, and the House, shall not stand on this foundation*

*Iowa House of Representatives medical cannabidiol program designed to fail while scapegoating and throwing the medical cannabidiol advisory board under the bus a la Nixon’s 1972 La Guardia Committee is the “House” referred to here, not the excremental excuse of a chopped-at-the-knees “medical” CBD false flag marijuana nightmare thrust upon Iowa’s politically useless unless needing a photo op or easy to sway mouthpiece for their “socially acceptable” marijuana prohibiting program, so they can swill cocktails and profit off opiates and lobbyist donations and keep fools chasing after them at their corn field keg parties intent on remaining brainwashed and uneducated, ignorant and perpetually surprised by the rest of the country’s common sense regulations, so as not to be seen as a sheep outside the fold, as if that ever worked when changing power or influencing power but when you refuse to read or study the law or where it comes from, you become a tool. Of  a House. That won’t represent you no matter who you sleep with. The program sucks. This is just the footnote regarding that essay…

Update: 6-29 3:29 pm BJ Hoffman said on the Iowa Releaf page,

Bj Hoffman We did not. Another company with a similar name. After talking with Medpharma recently we decided to hold tight as they expect dramatic losses for the foreseeable future.
