Arthur Smith Are there any doctors in Des Moines on the program? I need to find a new doctor.
MedPharm Iowa The IDPH is working on building a list of doctors participating in the program. It is opt-in, and recently created, so it may not be a very big list right now. You can request this information by calling the IDPH directly. www.idph.iowa.gov/cbd

Jana Page Arthur…I called them this afternoon. According to the gentleman there they are receiving 20-30 apps per day and have a total of 900 patients approved. DSM area has approx 100 physicians. He advised starting with pain specialists but to call once a week or so as they may be able to give out doctor’s names at that time.

Thomas Vrieze Tincture 1:1 is a 14ml bottle? Do you know the strands were utilized to harvest the cannabinoid from?

Curtis Roff Nothing seems to indicate that it’s a full spectrum product, which means it would be devoid of any terpenes. What this essentially means is that the strain from which it was derived is negligible and would have no differing outcomes on the efficacy of the product or any potential variability within it’s effects. I’ve seen 1:1 tinctures work very well, but they do, in fact, work better with terpenes (as do all cannabis products) as they help to modulate the effects of cannabinoids for different ailments.

Curtis Roff Don’t get me wrong, though, tinctures are great regardless. This simply means that you can’t “tailor fit” your medicine to the fullest degree.

Thomas Vrieze I was more interested in knowing if it was a Indica or Sativa strain. I do see your point on the terps, I would be nice to have more information on thier production. If it’s full plant CBDs or just from flowers. They leave a lot of unanswered questions with the way they present the products. Yes I also don’t see anything that says if it’s full spectrum, maybe it is maybe it isn’t. They are normally pretty good at getting back to everyone with questions. It’s just late on a Wednesday night.
Curtis Roff Thomas Vrieze That’s just it, the difference between traditional perceived sativa effects and indica effects is the terpene profile. That is why some companies are moving away from just defining cannabis products as indica, sativa or hybrid, as the terms are overly generalized.
Thomas Vrieze True, until they disclose the raw product used to produce the end product, we are just guessing. They have been very good at answering questions, so we should give them some time.
