IHRC awarded 2018 City of Iowa City Human Rights Award.
On behalf of IHRC, Executive Director Sarah Ziegenhorn has accepted the 2018 Ken Cmiel Human Rights award. The city recognized IHRC for “single-handedly saving the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of Iowans” through overdose and hepatitis prevention programming.
Additional awardees include Kevin Sanders of the NAACP, Dr. Jack Stapleton of the University of Iowa Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Clinic, Susan Craig of the Iowa City Public Library, Jennifer Sherer of the University of Iowa Labor Center, the Immigrant and Refuge Association, and Tammy Nyden of Mother’s on the Front Line. Congratulations to all of the award winners!
