Gubernatorial Candidate Jake Porter was rejected by the voters, and the responsibility for that rests on said voters.
Coming in at the same percentage vote wise as my third party did in 2010, Jake took home just over 1.6% of the vote, falling short of the 2% marker rigged by the duopoly parties to make it impossible for anyone to bring new ideas to the table, guaranteeing that issues become ignored while smear campaigns are mounted as humans prefer negativity to thinking.
We’re screwed and the economy will crash while people argue over whether a bowling ball is a girl or boy.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR MARIJUANA LOBBYISTS
Not much.
Essentially, nobody thought the Libertarian Party would do much this cycle. They outperformed expectations from our vantage point, especially in the race against Tom Miller, where LP Candidate Marco Battaglia took home 23% of the vote in the race for Attorney General.
With the Republicans controlling all three houses and current marijuana activists with media focus on them being too cowardly to mount up any legal challenges or do much but cry at the podium it looks like the ball will be purely in the GOP court for fixing this disastrous excuse of a medical program. Luckily, this means the GOP will not be able to blame Democrats for the beginning of this program, so maybe, just maybe, they will actually do some fucking work and read a book or listen to someone for five minutes instead of voting no out of hate and retributive justice, like Representative Ralph Watts.
