PTSD/BipolarDisorder•Dr. Shreck recommended that this petition be handled as twoseparate conditions.• Discussion was held on how to handle the proposal as theconditions were submitted together. Consensus concludedthat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Bipolar Disorderare clearly two separate conditions. Questions and concernswith the board’s ability to split a petition containingmultiple disorders were shared and the statute was reviewed. It was determined that the Board has the authority to consideraddition of new conditions independent of the receipt of apetition, thus splitting the conditions for consideration wasallowable.•Dr. Stoken expressed the desire to have additional time toreview studies for PTSD as well as Bipolar Disorder.•A motion was made by Dr. Stoken to defer a vote for both conditions, and to take them up for consideration as two separate conditions at the November 2, 2018 meeting.
