Dispensaries Open This Saturday!
Saturday, December 1st, marks the first day medical cannabis has ever been sold in Iowa. We couldn’t be more excited to officially open our doors and welcome fellow Iowan’s.
There is much you should know about our opening day. Read below for more information!
First Visit – Intake Form
Patients must complete an intake form during their first visit to a MedPharm Iowa dispensary. To save time, this form can be filled out in advance. Please complete this form and bring it with you. Download the intake form here: medpharmiowa.com/dispensaries
Patients are recommended to meet with a patient consultant prior to purchasing medical cannabis products. Consultations often last 15-60 minutes. We offer scheduled and walk-in consultations. Cash Payments
Cash is the only form of payment we will accept on opening day. Debit card payments will be accepted starting mid-December. Credit cards are not permitted, unfortunately, due to federal restrictions.
Checking In: ID Required
All visitors must check in at our front desk. A medical cannabis card and government ID are required to purchase Aliviar products. Visitors who do not have a medical card may check-in with a government ID. Accompanied minors are not required to have a state ID. A medical card is not required to purchase clothing merchandise.
Media Presence
MedPharm Iowa has a strict no-media policy at our dispensaries, however, an exception will be made during the first 30 minutes of opening on Saturday. Media will be present inside our dispensaries until 8:30. Anyone who chooses not to be on camera or recorded, we recommend arriving after 8:30am. Note that our parking lot is public property, and there may be news reporters in that space at any time.

Will it be busy Saturday?
We expect our launch day to be busier than usual. Visitors will be assigned a number at check-in to ensure their place in line. After checking in, a visitor may walk around the store until their number is called. At this point, a MedPharm patient consultant will guide the visitor through the process. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided!
T-Shirts and Sweatshirts
Our Windsor Heights and Sioux City dispensaries will offer apparel merchandise in the form of t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts ($25 and $45 respectively). Sizes include S-XXL. Expanded sizing will be available later this month. Online sales are not available at this time.
Product Safety and Legality
Every medical cannabis product receives a unique dispensary sticker, affixed at purchase, to ensure the security of ownership. Do not remove this sticker. It proves legal ownership, and is linked directly to each medical cannabis card.
Aliviar Products
All products sold in Iowa dispensaries starting December 1st will be part of MedPharm Iowa’s Aliviar brand. Our Aliviar products are carefully formulated to provide the symptom relief patients are seeking with medical cannabis products.
