From the National NORML Office comes this latest action alert:

Legislation is pending, SF 77, to expand access to certain medical cannabis products in Iowa.

The proposed changes:

• Allow physicians to recommend low-THC medical cannabis oil to any patient whom they believe will benefit from its therapeutic use; and
• Raises the cap on THC limits from three percent to 13 percent.

A separate bill, SF 78, seeks to raise the restrictive cap on THC allowed in medical cannabis products.

A subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee recommended that SF 77 be passed on 1/31. SF 78 is awaiting action from that same subcommittee.
