After Dr. Wendy Zadeh’s politically motivated stunt this latest release from the Iowa Advisory Board sees a concerned leading cannabis advocate speaking out in earnest.
Erin Bollman, who blogs at Abram Mayhem, spoke out on Facebook this afternoon:

To say that I’m disheartened would be an understatement. When the Medical Cannabidiol Board was put into place, I thought that they would listen, research and do what is best for patients… you know…the sick and suffering patients this program was created for.
Yet, I learned they are trying to cap the CBD:THC ratio to 20:1 for kids 18 and under per the letter the Board sent to the Governor.
So, you’re telling me that you’re going to give parents FALSE HOPE that you’re going to help their children with severe autism with self-harming and aggression and then NOT ALLOW them access to the products that could help them?
I am especially disgusted because I testified in front of the board with ACTUAL DATA in February on how THC helped my son’s self harming. One doctor even came up to me, told me he was impressed with my data and suggested I give him MORE THC.
Kids with epilepsy NEED THC. Not all kids with epilepsy do well on CBD alone. MANY kids NEED THC to calm their EEGs.
Kids with autism NEED THC. THC helps calm my son. It helps him NOT bash his face into walls, the floor or punch himself in the face.
I’m disgusted. This program is going backwards because of “recommendations” like this from the Board.
This will only force parents to continue to break the law and seek refuge in CO.
