Iowa company “Midwest Botanicals” to focus on hemp production for the production of cannabidiol (CBD)

An employee with the company said in response our WeedPress post about the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division 2019 Advisory Memo On CBD Scheduling:

“That is why farmers like us cant come back to Iowa. I wish we could supply our cbd to fellow Iowans. Right now the system is rigged against non corporations. Here are some of current crops. I hope the people of iowa can get there voices heard over the system.”

More companies are expected to emerge as Iowa awaits a fall ruling from the USDA before CBD can be made publicly available. Currently, all sales of CBD in Iowa are illegal unless purchased through the expensive and limited medical cannabis program.
