The Veterans Administration’s position on medical marijuana is no longer terrible. Time for Iowa to catch up to the rest of the country.

From now until Nov 1, I’m going to be asking you to help Iowa veterans. Unlike most veterans, Iowa vets cannot legally benefit from medicines made from cannabis (marijuana) to treat PTSD.
EVERY Iowan with PTSD should have access to effective treatments, especially safer alternatives to risky opioids.
On Friday, November 1, the Iowa Medical Cannabidiol Advisory Board will decide whether to add PTSD as a qualifying condition under the Iowa medical cannabis program.
I’m asking you to email your support for this change to medical.cannabidiol@idph.iowa.gov or by calling 515-725-2076.
Tell them you want Iowans suffering from PTSD to have legal access to safe, professionally prepared medicines made from cannabis, just like most other Americans.
Members of the public can also attend and speak at these meetings at the Iowa Laboratory Facility, 2240 DMACC Blvd in Ankeny.
8:30 AM – A subcommittee of the board will take public comments (3 minutes per person) and then will decide on a recommendation to the full board.
10:00 AM – Public comments will also be heard at the beginning of the full Board meeting at 10 AM (3 minutes per person).
