This is a really great graphic.

Kids with incarcerated parents, or parents who had been incarcerated in the past, show worse markers than peers. Plenty of kids with incarcerated parents or who had incarcerated parents were thriving in spite of situation. Science is behind the issue. DOC needs to fund annual data collection processes as data is both dated and research was funded solely by U of M people. Committee said it takes five adults to speak into a kid’s life as well as be a permanent fixture supposedly, could be three countered Rebecca. Almost nothing is known about impact of community supervision on children, ie stress of constantly dropping ua’s, the risk of going to jail if they screw up, whose going to take the kids to school, etc. Alternatives to incarceration impacts on children does not have useful science, yet.
