Below is the letter to myself from Gary Dickey, Chair of the Des Moines City Council Marijuana Task Force. I’m going to send a one sentence response in that I support any reduction or elimination of penalties for any and all forms of marijuana use, transport, and personal cultivation. I also urge the city council to tell the state legislators to fix this issue as a city council is incapable of resolving the injustice of marijuana prohibition on it’s own, and that the State legislature can and should be encouraged to form a state level marijuana task force as well, at the urging of the city council.
