I will be taking part in the public comment hearing to speak on behalf of Iowa Patients for Medical Marijuana. Issues of concern to be shared with the board include high cost of products due to federal law issues, lack of access to dispensaries as some patients have to drive over two hours each way to go to their nearest marijuana dispensary, concerns over medicating on school grounds for children who have to use medical marijuana again due to federal laws, and the restrictions on allowing access to the program for patients whose illnesses are not arbitrarily approved by the state of Iowa.
