Historically, Legalize Iowa has made penis jokes, wished death on their enemies, and promoted bad activism and bad behavior in general for years. All losing tactics in politics and all damaging to legalization unity and cooperation in Iowa. All serious Iowa marijuana advocates shun this legalization group. At this point, I think they do sabotage on purpose, and are simply wicked and evil.
Here we are again. It’s 2021, and Legalize Iowa has slandered another leading advocacy organization. At least this time, they didn’t do what they’ve done before — call people who were smarter than them and better advocates “snitches,” one of their favorite go to tactics. From a place of jealousy, these fake leaders of the Iowa marijuana movements frequently level false accusations against anyone in Iowa who advocates to change the marijuana laws more effectively. This year, this group has for their newest target a business that has so far invested — and lost — millions of dollars and has no hope of turning profit for many years. While other businesses abandoned patients due to the high cost of doing business in the highly regulated marijuana industry, this business that was falsely accused of having contaminated medicine by this legalization group has stuck around at a personal financial loss. And this business took on this financial loss because it decided it could afford to help people. A truly selfless and virtuous endeavor on this businesses part, because the business owners had a medical marijuana patient in their family and they wanted to help other families…
I know that for some, it’s hard to imagine people with money also having their hearts in the right place, but that’s who MedPharm Iowa actually is — and that’s why the people at MedPharm deserve respect and gratitude for taking the financial losses to pioneer and prop up restrictive legal medical cannabis access in Iowa. Without them, the program would not be in existence. What MedPharm doesn’t deserve, not to mention the legalization community in Iowa doesn’t deserve is the annual appearance of Legalize Iowa’s standard operating procedure of falsehoods, lies, and attention seeking snakey bs.
Legalize Iowa dramatically and hysterically imagined on Facebook this NOvember (screenshots below) as well as had calls to action in the comments by their truly evil irresponsible user base to file business complaints against MedPharm Iowa. These baseless complaints (based on a malice and intent to defame MedPharm as Legalize Iowa promotes home grown access over legal access and makes up lies to discredit legal medical marijuana businesses to pursue this agenda) were easily and readily refuted by Medpharm on Facebook the following day. See below:

Most of Legalize Iowa’s commenters are out of state trolls. These out of state internet armchair gardeners were not only not involved in Iowa’s program, but they were wrong about there being bugs on the cannabis plants. The “bug” in question, according to MedPharm, was actually sterilized carbohydrate substrate:

For Legalize Iowa to initiate and encourage these discussions has been time and time again over the past seven freaking years a real headache to navigate. When WeedPress went on the local news to warn people selling CBD that CBD was illegal in Iowa, Legalize Iowa put WeedPress on blast and accused WeedPress of working for police to bust CBD sellers…while also lying to the public and telling them they can legally sell weed in Iowa. So, while WeedPress tried to protect the marijuana community, Legalize Iowa worked to spread fake legal advice, which resulted in people taking legal risks they should not have taken. When this was pointed out, Legalize Iowa called us “snitches.” Giving bad legal advice was bad enough, but trying to attack allies in the marijuana movement showed everyone for the final time that Legalize Iowa was not to be trusted nor worked with, as they were liars, predators, and criminals with no remorse.
They’ve continued and confirmed that pattern of behavior with this latest attack against MedPharm.
Nobody who is actually a leader on marijuana policy works with them as they are shunned. And, when their representatives show up at meetings, they’re not influential, so they’re usually just ignored. Why feed Legalize Iowa energy?
The thing is, we can’t organize and advocate with these Legalize Iowa’s criminal level tactics not being called to accounting. The number one problem in Iowa is that legalization organizations — mostly just Legalize Iowa — attack everyone in the marijuana advocacy community, lie about them, and then pretend like nothing happened and there are no consequences. The people who do these attacks usually don’t stick around for long, but organizations have tolerated these people and their attacks out of desperation, as Iowans overwhelmingly do not want to put in the effort to organize and lobby to legalize marijuana. At most, they’ll talk online about maybe doing something one day, but, they have other things to do with their time.
The falsehoods constantly spread time and time again by Legalize Iowa prevents any effective marijuana advocacy from ever getting going. Legalize Iowa has called people feds when people have tried to organize marijuana advocates. They’ve called people snitches. They’ve threatened people through their Legalize Iowa pages, doxxed people, threatened lawsuits against truth tellers like WeedPress, made calls to cancel people who called them out for being predators and liars, and always slithered away like the criminal shepherds they are. Legalize Iowa is a criminal organization, full stop. Their colleagues and allies have posted people’s phone numbers — specifically, mine — on their public pages, and had supporters call those people — me — on those phone numbers for weeks on end with threats and harassment. The people at Legalize Iowa, and people who work with these people at Legalize Iowa, are enemies of marijuana legalization.

Somebody in Iowa should take personal responsibility and denounce Legalize Iowa for promoting fake news and hurtful lies.
Legalize Iowa’s wicked accusations against MedPharm were leveled on November 22nd. MedPharm refuted the wicked accusations on the 23rd of November — the very next day. Nearly two weeks have passed, and Legalize has left their accusations up, and not made a correction. I predict they will complain about my article on WeedPress, and then delete their post on Facebook from the 22nd, because that’s what they do roughly once every year when they want attention, patient advocacy efforts be damned. What happens when your group has no ideas to contribute and goes around stabbing everyone else working to legalize marijuana in the eye?
You get remembered as a foe, and not a friend. Legalize Iowa and it’s supporters are foes of legalization. Be warned.
