Statutes, Rules, and Guidance: Legislation – Substances Derived from Hemp 901st Meeting of the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy

Hey uh, Houston? CBD industry sales people and their insidious snake oil profiteers have an actual problem. On December 8th of 2021, the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy sent a potential shockwave report on CBD legality.

Posts by advocates called for CBD protections four years ago in Iowa, but, CBD people didn’t support legal changes, claiming it would make it harder to do business. Now the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy is starting a battle. What will be the outcome?

Key quote from the report: “the sale of products that contain cannabinoids or tetrahydrocannabinols (THC), extracted or indirectly derived from any type of cannabis plant, remains illegal under federal and Minnesota state law, with certain exceptions.” (emphasis added by WeedPress)

The Star Tribune covered the news of this shockwave in depth for CBD industry types in this article: Minnesota agencies, CBD sellers are heading to a battle next year.

Consumer safety is at stake as well as market share and access to the market. This battle will be noteworthy. Coverage on this story as we move through 2022 available here at WeedPress.
