How Kim Reynolds Bullied Iowa City Council Members Out of Decriminalizing Marijuana

Iowa city council members who wished to decriminalize marijuana tell Iowa cannabis activists Kim Reynolds threatened to take away city funds from the state if the city council pursues marijuana decriminalization.

As of today Kim Reynolds is the most unpopular governor in the country.

Republicans stifling debate on a winning political issue using threats to city council members may be part of why Kim Reynolds is so unpopular in her last year in office.

I say good riddance. Kim retires at the end of 2026, and is hated by half the Iowa GOP these days , for moves like her threat to Iowa City council. So much for listening to and allowing voters to direct politicians, who should work for the public, not against the public.
