This page lists South Dakota medical cannabis establishments by type, as the Department of Health lists them, with a status for each entry.¹ The four establishment types come from SDCL 34-20G-1, and each operates under a Department registration certificate.²
Status key. Active: on the Department’s current list, with no published report of closure. Closed: the Department says the certificate closed, or the business confirmed its closure in published WeedPress reporting. Pending: an application the Department has confirmed is pending. To be verified: the Department’s list and other reporting disagree, or the status is unclear. Statuses are not guessed.
Limits. The Department’s page says its content was last updated Aug. 27, 2026, so closures after that date may not yet show. The Department does not comment on applications it has received, so this list shows no Pending entries. One business may hold several certificates, and the Department lists each one separately; those rows are repeated here as listed. The list gives no street addresses or certificate numbers, and this page adds none.
DOH registration is not DEA registration. A Department of Health registration certificate is a state credential. Federal registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration is separate, and this page makes no claim about whether any establishment holds or lacks it. Pending records requests. South Dakota Department of Health public records requests PUBRECREQ0007157 and PUBRECREQ0007158, which ask for records about establishments and cardholder counts, are pending, with responses due about Nov. 10, 2026. This list will be updated when they return.
