And, the award from the Puget Sound Business Journal:

After years as Seattle’s top-selling cannabis retailer, Uncle Ike’s location in the Central District has been dethroned by Have A Heart in Belltown, which brought in $11.8 million in sales for the fiscal year.

That was a 62 percent jump from the previous year.

Have A Heart opened in 2016, and co-owner and CEO Ryan Kunkel says fiscal 2018 was when the store gained traction.

Kunkel credits his team, which signed a collective bargain agreement in August with United Food and Commercial Workers Union 21, for building repeat business.

“Happy employees make for happy guests, and happy guest make for better sales,” he said.

Kunkel has his sights set on national growth. The company closed a $25 million funding round in September and just started another $50 million round to continue financing national expansion.

Have a Heart holds 15 recreational licenses in six states, and expects them all to be open by the end of the year.

According to this news release yesterday Have a Heart also recently purchased a brokerage firm. So, we’ve got good business in Iowa going. Meanwhile Acreage Holdings, the other grower holding an Iowa marijuana grow license, has three major power players in national politics on it’s board of directors. Get ready for the suits and Maserati’s (I couldn’t even spell that word), folks.
