GSA, the General Services Administration, sent me out as an IT tech to troubleshoot a control panel issue at a gate for judges and attorneys to enter at a courthouse.
Determined the electrical cable run at the gate was needing replaced. The GSA had me bend conduit and run a new cable which I didn’t mind. Turns out they were explicitly told I wasn’t allowed to do that and GSA had me do it anyway.
I didn’t get in trouble but I’m never trusting anything GSA says again.
This happened in 2025. After being flown to Hawaii and Seattle for similar federal government agency jobs I stopped taking these jobs as I’d rather be at home than in hotels.
